James Lovell is an advocate committed to service and community, and has spent his entire life in King County fighting to elevate, amplify, and serve the voices & members of our community that need to be heard the most. James, an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Tribe of Chippewa Indians, has served in the Native American community in Seattle/King County, working with youth in the child welfare & education systems. James, who is bilingual in English and Vietnamese, has also spent the last 10 years working with Immigrant and Refugee communities, particularly with his work at VFA from 2006-2012, where he hosted dual-language programming and served on the community advisory committee for the development of the Seattle World School. Since 2013, James has worked at School's Out Washington, supporting youth-serving agencies across the county and state to meet their goals in providing high-quality programs where youth can build social emotional learning skills. James also enjoys volunteering at local CBOs as an MC and auctioneer to help agencies raise funds to provide service. James, his wife Mai, and their three young children Theodore (4 years old), Wilson (3 years old), and Eleanor (1 year old) live in Seatac where they enjoy eating, playing Legos, photography, computer games, and spending time with their extensive extended family.
